Air France Tahiti is apart of the Air France Corporation operating flights from Tahiti to Paris Via Los Angeles. Our inflight service is second to none and reflects the warmth and culture of tahiti! On June 4, 2016, the company suspended all operations indefinitely after an accident (See: Flight 182 Accident), by order of the French Civil Aviation Authority. On June 30, the company's website was taken down, as was airport signage at non-hub cities. On September 1, 2016, the company announced that there was a lack of maintenance causing the incidents aboard Flight 182, they announced that operations will return to operating on September 10, while another used 767-300 has been ordered, and should be entering service November 1, 2016, when full schedule will resume. On October 21, the company announced that Air France Tahiti service will NOT resume November 1, and will be suspended until further notice. On December 13, 2016, Jacques Drummond, the Chief Information Officer, announced that the company will resume operations on January 1, 2017, with flight 2017 from PPT-CDG (Operated by Airbus A330 Moorea), departing at 9:00AM. The company's website was re-opened and flight booking was made available. He announced that the 767 that was ordered will NOT be accepted and that the other 767 in the fleet has been grounded indefinitely, the fleet size of the company is now 7 and all flights to Las Vegas are suspended indefinitely.

Incidents/Accidents

Spring 2014 - An Air France Tahiti Airbus A330-200F (Freight Plane) landed in Moscow, after the plane's fuel jettison malfunctioned, jetissoning the fuel.  

July 19, 2014 - An Air France Tahiti Airbus A330-200 (Moorea) skidded off the runway upon landing in Paris.  The aircraft took moderate damage and the aircraft has since been repaired.  

May 20, 2016 - An Air France Tahiti (Flight 182) Boeing 767-300 took a hard landing at San Francisco Airport. The aircraft slammed down into the ground injuring 14 of the 211 passengers and crew. The nose landing gear collapsed. An Air France Tahiti spokesperson says the aircraft incurred heavy damage and is to be scrapped. On June 4, 2016, the company announced that there has been had been a major mechanical malfunction, later the same day, the French Civil Aviation Authority announced that all Air France Tahiti aircraft were grounded indefinitely. The company fully refunded all passengers and they were provided with 20% off their next Air France flight.
